Crack the Case Competition
The Academic Clubs of SIBM Hyderabad (HR, Operation, Finance and Marketing) conducted ‘Crack the Case’- A Case Analysis Competition on 7th July 2016, under the guidance of Prof. Satya Prasad & Prof. Ridhi Rani. The competition saw many student managers from both the batch of MBA who turned up as a team and exhibited their analytical skills. The Case handed over to the students was an Ivy League Case which was based on a beverage company “Starbucks”
The Case Analysis Competition consists of two rounds. The first round was about analysing the case critically with keeping all the factors and aspects in mind. The case given to the students they need to explain in a write up format. The first round was an elimination round where teams were selected and shortlisted on the basis on their write-ups. The selection of the write-ups was done by our jury (Prof. Satya Prasad & Prof Ridhi Rani) and the selected teams were forwarded to the second round. The second round was based on presentation. Selected teams explained the case with their learning and observations through a presentation. Top three teams were selected on the basis of the second round and the result was declared by our jury (Prof. Satya Prasad & Prof Ridhi Rani).
Students from both the batch portrayed their management skills and analysed the case with full efficiency. New ideas and strategies explained by the students were really different and innovative. The problem identification part and giving a solution for that problem was done with full dedication at the presentations. This competition became a stage for every student to understand the importance of writing and speaking as the competition was a combination of both. On the basis of the performances and the result, prizes and certificates were distributed. This Event was a big success and the Academic Clubs were successful to give a platform to the students of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad to portray their analytical and thinking abilities.
