As part of the live webinar series- Symbinar, we hosted Mr. M.S. Unnikrishnan, Managing Director & CEO at Thermax Group, who spoke on ‘Insights on COVID-19 management and post-pandemic preparation’.

Our guest began by talking about India’s response to the pandemic, which included the early lockdown declaration and our stock of medical equipment such as ventilators and test kits. He further elaborated on the cure to the disease through vaccines and India’s involvement in the process.

Mr. Unnikrishnan spoke about India’s economic conditions just before being hit by the virus and its effects post the situation. He also elaborated how the poor population of the country has been severely hit and the immediate need to make food available to them. Sir also talked about small and medium scale industries which are facing difficulty in this time of crisis, and mentioned that how heavily large-scale industries depend upon them. He also explained his views by mentioning the key six areas where he foresees a change in post-pandemic days, which includes Geopolitics, macro-economics, regulations across the globe, human behaviour, industry dynamics and technological interventions. He concluded by indicating that the current situation would end soon and hence there is no need to panic and develop the ability to face the situation.  

The session was followed by a Q&A Session where students came up with their queries and displayed their keen interest in the topic.
