Event Name: Induction Program, Batch 2022-2024
Objective: The Induction Program, for the MBA batch of 2022-2024 of SIBM, Hyderabad was held from June 13, 2022 to June 18, 2022. The objective of the Induction Program was to familiarise the students with the institute, facilities it offers, policies and etiquette of campus life and provide a peek into the corporate world.
Outcome: Students got an insight into the Academic, Co-curricular and extracurricular environment of SIBM-H. Their queries were cleared, they were able to utilise this opportunity to interact and build their network with several guests, corporates, seniors and the esteemed faculty.

Yoga Session
SIBM - Hyderabad believes that a student needs to be physically and mentally healthy, which will help them to excel in their academics. Keeping this in view the yoga sessions were conducted for the new cohort of MBA 2022-2024. Each day of the Induction Program commenced with a Yoga Session conducted by Mr. Ashok Vankineni, Founder, Bodhi School of Yoga from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM.

Dr. K. P. Venugopala Rao, Director in his welcome address, emphasized on the importance to explore, analyze and attain expertise. He urged the students to utilize time, knowledge and keep learning but simultaneously balance their time by engaging in various club activities. He was confident that the cohort would sharpen their skills and become corporate ready.

Next it was the turn of the guest of honor Mr. R V G Kulkarni, Life Coach and Consultant, Bliss Infiniti, to address the batch of MBA 2022-2024. He elaborated on the need to manage a healthy life and a successful career. He suggested that students should inculcate the habit of exercising daily. It would lead to healthy body and a healthy mind.
The next guest of honor to bless the students was Mr. A V Sateesh Kumar, MD and CEO, Vaya Finserv. He spoke on how successful professionals often attribute their achievements to their practical qualities and positive traits. He emphasized on the need for discipline and integrity among the budding managers.

Ice-Breaking Session
The session was conducted by Ms. Nidhi Bandaru, Certified International trainer. The objective of the session was to welcome the new batch and create a sense of camaraderie which would lead to inculcation of team spirit among the students.

The finale of the day was ‘Twister’, a fun filled student activity which helped them to engage and interact with each other with enthusiasm. It was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.

June 14, 2022 - Day 2
The Day 2 started at 10:00 AM., with a session by Mr. Vishal Shrimankar (Strategic Business Change Manager & Vice President-Multinational Bank) He shared his thoughts on “The Accelerating Pace of Change and What it Means for You” with the batch.

He briefed the budding managers about being adoptable, prioritizing tasks, and collaboration as the key to be successful in the corporate world. He also stressed on creating a culture that fosters the spirit of continuous improvement.

Post corporate gyan session, it was the turn of Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta, Deputy Director, SIBM- Hyderabad, to address the new batch and provide insights on various departments and their respective functionalities. He explained that SIBM Hyderabad draws its vision and mission from that of the University.
Mr. Nicholas Daniel Ross, Head- Corporate Relations & MDP, SIBM, Hyderabad, then briefed the cohort about the placement cell (CAT- Career Assistance Team), the activities done by it and stressed the role it plays in providing career opportunities to students. He also explained about various corporate relation activities conducted by the department of Corporate Relations & MDP.

Next it was the turn of Dr. V.K. Satya Prasad, In Charge of Academics, SIBM, Hyderabad, to brief the students about the importance of academics and he stressed on the need to maintain academic discipline, and provided a glimpse about pedagogy of SIBM, Hyderabad.
Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta, Dy. Director, SIBM- Hyderabad, took the stage and explained about the examination system in place at SIBM-Hyderabad. He elaborated on the rules related to exams.
Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta, next focused on Internationalization which is one of the pillars of Symbiosis he explained about various internalization initiatives.
Research plays a key role in the success of the industry and development of the country. Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta explained the research culture in vogue at SIBM-Hyderabad.

The day ended with student’s participation in Squid Games and GeetOn which were enjoyed by the students.
June 15, 2022 - Day 3
The Day 3 of the Induction Program resumed at 10 a.m., with a session by Ms. Sucheta Rao, SCEW, on the topic of counselling. She requested the students not to stress themselves, keep smiling and urged them to avail the counselling services whenever required.

Followed by this session, Col. S.S. Joshi (Retd.)., Campus Administrator, Hyderabad Campus took over the proceedings and briefed the students regarding the campus facilities and also briefed about administrative regulations.

It was the turn of Mr. Sunil Sachdeva (Head of Employee Relations, Asia Pacific - Novartis), to share his views with students. He spoke about the “Success Mantra for Graduates”. He said that hard work, patience and continuous learning are the key to success.

June 16, 2022 - Day 4
The day commenced with an address by Mr. Amit Chauhan, Senior Manager, Invesco on the topic, “Dynamics of the Financial Industry”. He focused on asset management. Mr. Chauhan explained about the various domains involved in the asset management industry, i.e., investment, client oriented and support teams. He gave a brief about region-wise growth, comparing active and passive funds. He ended the session by giving a broad view on the future outlook of the asset management industry.

The next speaker was Mr. Sandeep Dalavai, Manager, Human Resources, Concentrix. Who spoke on “Campus to Corporate” journey. He stated that “practical world is different from the theoretical world in many aspects”. He stressed on the need to develop inter personal skills and become tech-savvy and inculcate time. Mr. Sandeep was joined by his colleague Ms. Rasagnya who gave valuable insights on the same topic.

June 17, 2022 - Day 5
This day commenced with an informative session by Mr. Nicholas Ross, Head - Corporate Relations, SIBM, Hyderabad. He introduced the concept of “Master Class” and explained how this corporate mentorship program has given wonderful results. He exulted the students to take advantage of this unique initiative.

Next it was the turn of Dr. Tanmoy De who addressed the students on the “Nuances of Student Mentoring”. He threw light on how the three types of mentoring i.e., Faculty Mentoring, Corporate Mentoring and Buddy Mentoring enable the students in their development.
This session was followed by Ms. Ekta Singh (CHRO - AGS Health) who spoke on “Lessons Learnt in Corporate World”. Ms. Ekta stated that “Hard work pays off” but “Smart work pays better”. She also focused on the importance of listening skills and encouraged the students to believe on the principle of never giving up.

After this enriching and knowledge sharing day, the students were invited to participate in i.e., what’s in the Jar, Fight it Out, Housie and Open Mic student activities.

June 18, 2022 - Day 6
The final day of the induction program commenced with a session highlighting the importance of NGOs to society and it was elaborated with a case study of Tharuni Foundation. Mr. Raghuveer and Mrs. Mamatha Raghuveer threw light on how the girl child was gradually becoming the most neglected. Mrs. Raghuveer emphasized on how adolescence is the pillar of life and how it is the phase where the rest of an individual’s life stands. They motivated the students to do welfare activities.

The key event of the day was “Meet the Management” from Symbiosis International (Deemed University) which was held in the evening. The event was graced with the presence of Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) & Principal Director, Symbiosis, Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), and Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Dr. Santosh Aghav, Director, SLS Hyderabad, Dr. K. P. Venugopala Rao, Director, SIBM, Hyderabad, faculty and staff.
Firstly, Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) was invited to address the students. She exulted students to make use of wonderful facilities in the campus and have a memorable two year stay and make their parents proud.

Next it was the turn of Hon’ble Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) & Principal Director, Symbiosis, to address the students.

Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar stated that the “students are the torch bearers of Symbiosis” and “they should keep flag of Symbiosis flying high with their achievements in their professional lives”. She said that Symbiosis is the right place to learn, improve and excel in professional life.
The finale was the message given by Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Symbiosis International (Deemed University). He stated that student should lead a disciplined life and make name for themselves, institution, society and stay healthy.
