    CoRe, Cell of Research conducted the activity, Case Research Competition Episode 2 on 24th August 2023 for the MBA Batch 2022-24, and MBA Batch 2023-25. The activity was hosted by Miranda Saikia. The Case Research Competition Episode 2 was conducted from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. There were 14 registrations from both batches who participated in the Case Research Competition Episode 2. There were 2 rounds in the competition. In round 1 total 3 teams participated and the best 2 teams among the 3 were selected for round 2. The Winner of the Case Research competition was TEAM 2.

    Rules of the discussion

  • a. Participants were divided into 3 groups (TEAM 1, TEAM 2, TEAM 3).
  • b. Each team received reference materials that had relevant data and information. Apart from that participants could bring their own data and information as well.
  • c. In Round 1, the participants had 12 minutes to discuss the case followed by a 3 minutes Q&A session for all the Groups. In Round 2, the participants had 7 minutes for the case discussion followed by 3 minutes of Q&A session.
  • d. Participants were advised not to turn the discussion into an argument and were requested not to avoid personal remarks.
  • e. For the Second Round the best two teams were selected.
  • f. Audiences were also allowed to participate and ask relevant questions to the teams.
  • PROBLEM STATEMENT:

  • ROUND 1: Wipro’s recent results show that the company is once again underperforming its peers.
  • ROUND 2: Wipro's recovery faces hurdles from macroeconomic challenges, still a work in progress.

The team also pointed out that the organization should come up with Robust strategies. In the marketing aspect, the team mentioned that a few policy changes may help the organization grow.

  • Wipro is grappling with macroeconomic challenges: a stronger US dollar is driving up costs, inflation is cutting into profits, AI changes are requiring workforce adaptation, and security concerns are looming. Wipro continues to invest in technology to recover.
  • The teams mentioned that the organization should be adaptive to pricing strategies and they used to make more investments in India (especially UP) for better results.
