FFF Marathon Lavale


Summary

Event Name: The Fitness for Freedom Run was held on 15th August 2023 at Lavale. It was an Independence day celebration with a difference.

Objective:
This event was an opportunity for all the stakeholders to pay their tribute to the nation by participating in large numbers in this event.

Outcome:
Each and every athlete enthusiastically participated in the marathon and enjoyed competing with the other athletes from various institutes.

Event Categories: The Elite student category for boys (15km) and girls (7km)

  • General Student Male/Female (Time: 9 am, Distance: 3 km)
  • Staff below 40 years Run/Walk (Male/Female, Time: 9 am, Distance: 3 km)
  • Staff above 40 years Run/Walk (Male/Female, Time: 9 am, Distance: 3 km)
  • Ethnic Walk for all in traditional Wear Only (Time: 9 am, Distance: 1 km) Men’s Attire: Dhoti or Kurta Pajama.
  • About the Events:

  • Symbiosis Hill Run Elite Category: Top runners from all universities in Pune We participated in the symbiosis hill run. Distance: 15km for men, 7km for men woman
  • Ethnic Walk: This event is a 1km walk for all participants. The event required wearing traditional clothing for men (kurta and pajamas) and traditional clothing for women. Sally.
  • General Students (Male/Female): This category is specifically aimed at students who: were passionate about running and the distance of the race was 3km.
  • Employees Under 40 and Over 40 Running/Walking (Male/Female): At FFR events, something not only for students, but also for active students, but for everyone involved in symbiosis Enthusiastic employees also participated and ran a distance of 3km. Employees under the age of 40, regardless of gender, are eligible.
  • Organizer: Department of Sports Recreation and Wellness. (DSRW)

    Participants: There were 45 boys and 30 girls for the elite student category and the overall participation was 920 in all the categories.

    Route: For Elite category – Dist. 15km for Men and 7 Km for Women • Start - Aqua point at Lavale hilltop – Bus Bay – SSSS road- Petunia- Sandipani road- New Ghat road – SUHRC – SIT – Old Ghat road - Aqua point at Lavale hilltop- Finish (Total Distance 7 km).

    Report:

    The Department of Sports Recreation and Wellness (DSRW) organized the Fitness for Freedom Run on 15th August 2023 on the occasion of India’s 76th Independence Day. It was an Independence Day celebration with a difference. The sports and wellness committee of SIBM-Hconducted a trial session for the same on 4th August 2023. The winners of this trial event were Isha Singh (FY), Bhagya Shree (SY), Siddhant Baruah (FY) and Soumyadip Roy (FY). All four athletes participated in the FFF run enthusiastically and sportingly at the Lavale campus.

    The FFF event started at 7: 15 a.m. sharp. The event started with the boys’ elite student categoryfollowed by the girls’ elite student category. The top athletes from all the Symbiosis institutes participated in this event category. The Elite student category event ended at 8:45 a.m.

    Breakfast was served after the Elite category run. The second event i.e. staff below 40 years category eventRun/Walk for Male/Female started at 9: 30 am, The distance for this event was 3 km followed by the staff above 40 years Run/Walk for Male/ Female which started at 9:30 am. The distance for this event was 3 km. The above events were for the energetic staff of SIU. The Third event was the ethnic walk. This event was a walk in which all the participants had to wear traditional attire. This event was for only 1 km. The tricolor Indian flag was hosted right after the ethnic walk. Refreshments were served after flag hosting.

    All the winners of the Elite student category were rewarded with medals and certificates and all the athletes were given e-certificates. The winners of the Elite student category were also rewarded with a cash prize of-

  • 1st position- Rs 10,000/-
  • 2nd position- Rs 7,000/-
  • 3rd position- Rs 5,000/-.
  • The final event of the day was the general category event. The distance of this event was 3 km for both boys and girls. All the winners of the general category event were rewarded with medals and certificates. All the participants were on time and were dedicated throughout the event which was commendable.
