The Mint Club - student run group, aims at assisting students of SIBM-H in understanding the concepts and application of the knowledge gained in classroom. It promotes an appreciation of contemporary areas of the domain with the goal of integrating the importance of finance with professionalism and excellence.
The academic clubs of SIBM-Hyderabad added another feather to their caps by organizing another of the best events as a part of the IT week celebrations that commenced from 20th September and went on till 23rd September.
The whole week was marked by different fun filled events and competitions that made the students get a gist of the real corporate manners in a playful way.
The second day was the Finance day where MINT CLUB, the Finance Club of SIBM-H, conducted an event, THE BIG BANG BID. This event saw the maximum response with participation from 25 teams, comprising of 3 members each.

Beat the Market -Stock Trading Event in collaboration with StockGro:
Mint Club – the Finance Club conducted an Intra College Virtual Stock Trading Competition, “Beat the Market”, for all students of SIBM-H from 16th August to 16th September 2021. This event was conducted on the StockGro application, a reputed virtual stock trading platform. In this event, registered participants were provided with virtual money and were allowed to invest in stocks, create a portfolio and track its performance with real time movements in the stock market. Certificates were provided to the participants with the top 5 portfolio values at the end of the competition.
Apart from the competitive aspect, this event was a great opportunity for all students to experience the world of investing in the stock market.
Academic Week:
Capital Returns, the event organized by the Mint Club as a part of academic week 2021, was conducted on October 2, 2021. The event comprised of two parts out of which, one was the Guest lecture and the other was a competition round. The topic of the session was ‘Portfolio Management of Equity-based Model’. The guest lecture was informative and enriching. The information and details of topic were well explained so that students from non-finance background can absorb every bit of it and make use of it in every phase of their lives. The competition involved students attempting a quiz and building a portfolio. The event was a success and the participants showed great enthusiasm in both the rounds.
FinSights: Management Consulting as a Career – Guest Lecture by Bharti Gupta Ramola
The Mint Club was privileged to have Mrs. Bharti Gupta Ramola for the FinSights series on August 28, 2021. The event addressed the topic “Management Consulting as a Career” It was an insightful and interactive webinar. Ma’am shared her experience in consulting through which she enriched the knowledge of students about consulting and equipped them with necessary information to build a career in consulting.
Colloquium: Focus Group Discussion
On 28th December 2021, Mint Club-The Finance Club of SIBM Hyderabad conducted a Focus Group Discussion under the series- “The Colloquium” from 7 pm to 8 pm on the topic “The Indian Stock Markets Journey in CY 2021.” The discussion revolved around the very important aspect of Indian Stock Market which saw a lot of ups and downs in the CY 2021 and also the way forward. The panel also drew lines on the recent IPO frenzy. Overall, the session gave a good bird eye view over the marketing index of Indian Stock market, IPOs and further expectations.
Bank-A-Lysis (Firande)
Bank-A-Lysis was organized by mint club as part of Firande 6.0 on 10 February, 2022. The event witnessed participation from 62 teams across diverse colleges. It was a case study competition focusing on the ideas of commercial banking, corporate finance, fundamental and financial statement analysis. Each team had to understand the case and present it. It was a successful event where each team took away insightful learnings from each round.
Budget session:
“Deciphering Budget-2022 – “Atmanirbhar Bharat ka Budget” was the 4th edition of the Union Budget Panel Discussion organized by the Mint Club on 18th February, 2022. This programme was conducted to interpret the specifications of the Fiscal Budget of 2022 and to address its significance towards fostering sustainable economic growth. It was an enriching session which helped the students gain an insight into the aspects of budget.
Academic Week 2.0:
Mint Club organized the event Deal Maker for the Academic Week 2.0. It was conducted on MS Teams on 14th Jan, 2022. The event commenced at 06:00 pm and concluded at 07:30 pm. The competition began with an introduction and briefing of the rounds by the head and deputy head of Mint Club. The competition had two rounds. The first round was a case study. The second round was presentation of the case study. The participants showed great enthusiasm in both the rounds. The competition demanded team work, critical thinking and the ability to make quick decisions. The event received positive feedback, with participants stating that it was an informative event that they enjoyed and that it added value to their learning.
Bloomberg Session:
Bloomberg session was organized on 31st March,2022. The session was conducted to familiarize the students with the features of the Bloomberg terminal. It was held to make the students understand and use the software to enhance their learning and knowledge. The session enriched the knowledge of the students and improved their understanding of the Bloomberg Terminal.
