Event Name: Guest Lecture on Impact of AI and ML in HR Processes.
Objective: This event aimed to educate students with comprehensive understanding of applications and benefits of AI and ML in HR processes.

Report: The Human Resource Club of SIBM-H Humanalaya conducted a Guest Talk on the topic “Impact of AI and ML in HR Processes” for the management students of MBA Batch 2024-2026 on 21st August 2024. The guest for the session was Mr. K. J. A. Swarup, Former General Manager, ITC Limited PSPD. The talk was conducted over two sessions. In the morning session (9:30 am - 11:00 am), Mr. Swarup engaged with Section 'A' students in the classroom 101, while the afternoon session (11:15 am - 12:30 pm) provided an opportunity for Section 'B' students to interact with him in the convention hall. Mr. Swarup immersed the students into the captivating realm of AI and ML, providing them with valuable insights. He emphasised how AI-driven strategic decisions can empower organizations and give them a competitive edge over others.

The talk traversed through how the human activity is slowly getting digitized and how the global landscape has evolved into a data - driven world. We were introduced to the concept of Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence, highlighting both the parallels and differences between Artificial Intelligence and Human intelligence. AI driven data and predictions are often unreliable due to limited data, so it's vital to use these insights judiciously.

Furthermore, Mr. Swarup shed light on key aspects of Machine Learning and its various types, highlighting how ML can quickly process and analyze vast amounts of data, uncovering patterns and insights that humans might miss. Students learnt that by harnessing tools like ML, we can solve complex problems more efficiently and drive innovation.
Mr. Swarup also advised the students on how they can navigate the ever-evolving management landscape. He emphasised the need for students to use AI and ML in a way that promotes diversity, inclusion and equity to thrive in organizations. He clarified that diversity encompasses all dimensions, inclusion means empowering everyone to contribute to decision-making and equity ensures fairness and justice.

The talk seamlessly transitioned into a discussion where Mr.Swarup highlighted the limitations of AI and ML. They can only augment and enhance human activities and cannot replace humans and their contributions. He noted that AI and ML are still evolving and have yet to reach their full potential. This strategic approach ensures our relevance and value in the workforce.
