Report: The Human Resources Club of SIBM-H Humanalaya conducted a Guest Lecture on the topic “Talent Management and Role of Analytics” for the human resource students of MBA Batch 2023- 2025 on 22nd August 2024. The guest lecturer for the session was Mr. K.J.A Swaroop, Former General Manager, ITC Limited PSPD offering valuable insights applicable to our HR aspirations. He eloquently underscored the crucial role of HR Analytics and how does it help in all processes of HR Analytics and how does it help in all processes of HR.

(Mr. K. J. A. Swarup addressing the students)

The key trends and metrics across various HR processes were discussed, including recruitment, learning and development, compensation and benefits, performance management systems (PMS), and talent management. These metrics, such as time-to-fill, employee turnover rate, training effectiveness, and compensation ratio, are crucial in evaluating and enhancing HR functions. Each metric is calculated using specific formulas, like the ratio of accepted offers to total offers for recruitment, and provides insights into organizational efficiency, employee satisfaction, and overall workforce optimization.

(Mr. Swarup explaining the concept to the students)

Furthermore, the HR processes, from manpower planning to the acceptance of an offer letter, were mapped out to showcase the interconnectivity and importance of each step. Manpower planning sets the foundation by identifying the organizational needs, which flows into the recruitment process, followed by onboarding, learning and development, and continuous performance management. Understanding these processes enables organizations to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve employee retention and engagement. To solidify these concepts, we performed data analysis and visualization using Tableau. This tool allowed us to uncover patterns and trends within the HR data, leading to actionable insights. For instance, we identified potential bottlenecks in the recruitment process and areas where employee development programs could be more effective. These conclusions provide a data-driven foundation for strategic decision-making in HR management.
