Official Induction Programme: July 12th to 15th, 2021
The Official Induction Program, Parichay ’21, for the MBA batch of 2021-2023 of SIBM, Hyderabad took place from 12th July 2021 to 15st July 2021. The objective of the Induction Program was to familiarise the students with the institute, facilitate openness and connectivity within the batch and to give them a glimpse into the corporate world.
Invoking the Prana– The Yogic Way
Each day of the Induction programme began with Yoga session conducted by Ms. Manjusha Bilaskar, Sr. in-charge (SIC, SBRD Campus), Department of sports, recreation and wellness, Symbiosis International University. The objective of the session was to introduce and imbibe yoga into the daily lives of the students to instil a habit in them to begin every morning with yoga practice for a fresh start each day.
12th July 2021 – Day 1
Inaugural Programme
The students of the batch of 2021-2023 were given a warm welcome to the first day of the Induction program “Parichay”. The event started off at 11:00 pm by enunciating on the motto of Symbiosis International University “Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam”, where the world is one family. The event was honored by the presentence of esteemed dignitaries Dr. Ravi Kumar Jain, Director, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad, Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta, Deputy Director, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad, and the chief guest Ms. Shikha Goel, IPS.
The event began with the auspicious Ganesh Vandana under the guidance of the esteemed dignitaries followed by the Director's address to the batch 2021 where Dr. Ravi Kumar Jain emphasized being the Champions of change by learning and developing continuously. He placed extreme importance on the fact that these 2 years are very important to explore, analyze and attain expertise, therefore urging the students to utilize it to the maximum and enjoy the time, and remember to sharpen the skills and become corporate ready.

After the Director’s Address, the chief guest for the day was called upon to address the gathering- Ms.Shikha Goel (IPS)-Additional Commissioner of Police, Crimes & SIT, Hyderabad City. She has 22 years of enriched experience in the field of VIP security and has remarkable excellence in supervising, investigating and monitoring court work. Ms. Shikha Goel highlighted by pointing out rightly that our team is a reflection of who we are and one should always remember to stay on the positive books to maintain and enhance your standards continuously. She provided a thought-provoking start to batch 2021 by signifying that tough-bosses and tough situations teach and make better professionals.
The first day ended with the vote of thanks delivered By Dr. Shyamsunda Chitta, Deputy Director of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. Mr. Chitta accentuated on the consistent learning and developing factors and told the students that they will gain a completely different exposure and be ready for the challenges.
Yoga Nidra Session
The Yoga Nidra Session was conducted at 9:30 p.m., by Ms.Manjusha Bilaskar, Sr. in-charge (SIC,SBRD Campus), Department of sports, recreation and wellness, Symbiosis International University. The objective of the session was to help the students to tackle stress, manage work-life balance, and lead a healthy and joyful life. The Yoga Nidra Sessions were conducted daily at 9:30 p.m. from 12th July till 15th July 2021. It was a very enriching experience for the students.
13th July 2021 – Day 2
Introduction of Campus
Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Hyderabad, with all the provisions and facilities, also believes in the discipline and proper administration of the campus, in order to maintain all the privileges and to see to it that they aren’t misused. To introduce the campus to the new batch of 2021-2023 and throw some light on the campus decorum and its administration, a session was conducted from 10:30 am to 11:00 am by Retired Col. Shekhar Joshi, Campus Administrator, Hyderabad Campus.
Mr. Joshi began with a presentation on the facilities provided by the SIBM Hyderabad campus for the students, and went to explain each one of the listed facilities.
The event was concluded by Question-and-answer session to clarify the doubts and queries of the new batch regarding the campus and its facilities.
Know your Departments - “Academics, Exams and Library”
The session began at 11:30 am with objective to introduce to the new batch, the various academic departments, examination department and the library. Dr. V. K Satyaprasad, faculty-marketing, welcomed the students and went on to explain the academic journey at SIBM Hyderabad. He urged the students to ready themselves for it and learn to balance both academic and non-academic activities during the two-years of MBA course.
Following his address, Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta, Deputy Director, SIBM Hyderabad took over the session to explain about the pattern of examination and general rules regarding the same. He started with the introduction of vision and mission of SIU and explained that SIBM Hyderabad draws its vision and mission from that of the University.
After the presentation on the examination process, Dr. Saradhi Kumar Gonela, faculty-marketing, gave a virtual tour of the library for the students of batch 2021-2023.

This was followed by a presentation on the library’s digital collection at SIBM Hyderabad by Mr. Srinivas Vemula. He also informed the student about the rules associated with borrowing books from library.

Introduction on “Masterclass & Corporate Relations”
The session began at 2:30 pm by Mr. Nicolas Daniel Ross, head of Corporate Relations. He introduced to the students the three important teams at SIBM Hyderabad: Career Assistance Team, Corporate Interaction Cell and Alumni Coordination Team, that stand as the bridge between the institution and the corporate world. Further, the ‘Masterclass’, the mentorship programme, was explained, which was followed by Q&A session.

14th July 2021 – Day 3
Ice-Breaking Session
The day started with an ice-breaking session – ‘Parichay- Know Each Other’ on the Microsoft Teams platform at 10:30 am. The programme was conducted by Dr. Nidhi Bandaru, founder of Dishi Consultants is an International certified trainer, certified LOA Coach, Life Coach, Certified Communication, and a certified trainer for virtual platforms, supported Mr. Dhiren Rana. He is a master corporate trainer with 22 years of experience with exclusive 14 years in training. The objective of the session was to welcome the new batch and create a space for free communication, as well as showcasing the diversity of the country.
The session started with an explanation on the core values one needs to have that will allow an individual to develop and grow. Also, the importance of inter and intrapersonal skills and how having a value system is like building a foundation. Dr Nidhi also said that none of the values that one develops is right or wrong and it is important who you set your values for. Moving on, an activity was conducted wherein the students were shown certain photos and they had to guess what was the actual meaning it conveyed. The session ended with Dr Nidhi explaining the 7Cs to Excellence and talking about strengths, learning, options and threats and also how it helps in resume building.
The session was hosted by Ms Nandana S from InkSleuths – the Literary Committee of SIBM Hyderabad. The new batch of students introduced themselves to their batchmates and gave them a chance to get acquainted with each other.
Coursera and Swayam Courses
After a vibrant session of introduction with the new batch of students, they were now introduced to the faculty members of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Hyderabad and the overview of the courses they would undertake in the academic year 2021. The pillars on whose foundation this institution prospers and will continue to prosper in years to come. The session started at 2 pm. and was initiated by Dr. Saradhi Kumar Gonela, Assistant Professor, Marketing Department of SIBM Hyderabad. It proceeded with the introduction of the teaching faculty, followed by the explanation of various courses under Coursera and Swayam. Afterwards, the faculties in charge of the various departments gave a brief about themselves and the departments that they handle.
Industry Expert Session
The final session for the day was given by industry expert Shri Vikas Sharma, HCL. The session started at 3.30 pm. At the onset of the session Mr Vikas started reminiscing about his college days when it was all about meeting people in person as compared to current times where everyone is present at different parts of the country. He also emphasized on how this phase will take the students close to the real world.
He also advised students not to jump on conclusions and understand everything from a holistic view and relating to the priority of the business is the key to be valued. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of interpersonal skills during team tasks as they’ll help them when they enter the corporate world. Towards the end, he advised the students to never believe that they are perfect and always help each other to evolve and the more one does it the better it is to network. The session concluded with a Q&A with the students.
15th July 2021 – Day 4
Briefing by the Student Council - ‘Constellation’
The fourth day of the induction programme began with Briefing by the Student Council - ‘Constellation’ at 10:30 am. The session began with a welcome address by Mr. Suman Daniel, president of the Student Council. He further gave short introduction to the Constellation of SIBM Hyderabad, followed by an explanation of its structure by Mr. Gautam Advani, vice-president of the Student Council. After this, student coordinators came forward to introduce their respective department and welcomed the Head/deputy-head of each club/committee/cell under their vertical to introduce themselves and their team to the batch of 2021-2023. The session was concluded by Dr. Tanmoy De, Faculty-marketing and in-charge of Student Activities, who interacted with students and also carried out a short ‘rapid-fire’ game, where questions were put-forth on the basis of the briefing that took place, and received active participation from the new batch.
Following this, C.A.T Induction Program took place on MS-Team from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, organised by Career Assistance Team, the placement cell of SIBM Hyderabad.
Case Method of Learning
From 3 pm to 5 pm, a session ‘Case Method of Learning’ was taken by Dr. Ravikumar Jain for the batch of 2021-’23, on MS Teams platform. The session began with an introduction by Dr. V.K Satyaprasad, Associate professor (Marketing), after Dr. Ravikumar Jain, Director SIBM Hyderabad took over.
The discussion was primarily based on four questions put forward by Dr. Jain : (1) what is a case method?, (2) what is a case in itself? (3) How to prepare for a case? (4) what to expect in case-class? He began by telling the historical significance of case-study method implemented by educational institutions and moved forward with the discussion through interactions with the participants. A video ‘The HBS case method defined ’was played for the students to give further understanding on the topic.
The session was then handed over to Dr. Saradhi Kumar Gonela, faculty-Marketing, who spoke on how to read a case. The session was later concluded with Dr, V. K Satyprasad delivering the closing remarks.
This was followed by an official introductory session by ACT –Alumni Coordination Team from 5:30pm to 6:30 pm and CIC- Corporate Interaction Cell from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
