Event Name: Inter-Institute Championship - 2023

Outcome:
The Department of Sports Recreation and Wellness (DSRW) organized the Inter- Institute Championship from 17th to 19th Aug 2023. The competition was organized by DSWR at SIU Pune invited all Symbiosis institutes all over the country for the following events.

Report:

The Department of Sports Recreation and Wellness (DSRW) organized the Inter-Institue Championship one of the highly anticipated event of the year held on 17th-19th August, 2023 at the SIU Lavale campus. The competition was open for all Symbiosis Institutes all over the country. A sports trial was conducted before sending eight students from SIBM Hyderabad to participate in Table Tennis, Swimming, Yoga and Squash representing SIBM Hyderabad.

This report provides an overview of each sport, the outcomes of our institute's participation, and share some personal experiences from the competition.

Table Tennis:

The Table Tennis competition was held on 17th August,2023 at SSSS, SIU Lavale Campus. Kaustav, Pallav, Aniket, Yash and Pankaj represented SIBM Hyderabad who played 2 out of 3 matches and lost against SITDM in the semi-finals.

Personal experience of the Table Tennis competition:

Participating in the Table Tennis competition was a valuable learning experience. Our team faced stiff competition but showed resilience and a strong team spirit. The opportunity to compete at such a high level enhanced our skills and camaraderie among the players.

Squash:

Pankaj represented SIBM Hyderabad in Squash which was held on 18th August, 2023 at SSSS, SIU Lavale Campus. Although our player displayed great effort and skill, the match ultimately went in favor of the opponent SSSS.

Personal Experience of Squah competition:

Competing in Squash was a challenging endeavor. Facing a skilled opponent from SSSS pushed me to give my best.

Swimming:

Isha represented SIBM Hyderabad in Swimming and reached the finals of the breaststroke 100 meters event but finished fourth against the swimmers from SSSS, SSE, and SIMS which was held on 17th and 19th August, 2023 at SIU Kirkee Campus.

Personal Experience of Swimming competition:

Participating in the swimming competition was exhilarating. Making it to the finals was a proud moment, and the challenging competition further fueled the desire to excel in the sport.

Yoga

Women’s Yoga:

The yoga team women’s category comprising of Tanvi and Kanika performed two compulsory Suryanamaskar, three compulsory Asanas, and two special asanas of choice.

Men’s Yoga:

The yoga team for men’s category comprising of Anand performed 3 compulsory asanas, Suryanamaskar and 2 special asanas of choice secured 4th place in the men’s category for yoga.

Personal Experience of Yoga Competition:

Participating in the Yoga competition allowed us to demonstrate their flexibility, focus, and dedication. Although we did not secure the top position, the experience of performing in front of a diverse audience and judges was incredibly enriching.

The event was a success and provided an opportunity for holistic learning. Team Dauntless of SIBM Hyderabad is looking forward to facilitating SIBM Hyderabad for participating in such events more often and looking forward to participating in them again.
