Summary

SymbiTalks, the flagship program of SIBM Hyderabad, brings eminent speakers and leaders from across the country, where they inspire the future generation of leaders by celebrating their victory in the face of obstacles with sheer determination. SymbiTalks aims to exhibit how resilience in the face of adversity leads to lasting endurance.

In the previous edition, SymbiTalks 8.0 - “This is My Story”, we commemorated the achievements of speakers who shared their journey of metamorphising by taking charge and achieving success. We had the privilege of hosting speakers such as Hemant Gandhe, Capt. Ved Singh, Ramna Vadavalli and Vikas Sharma among others, who through their stories stimulated glory and the importance of restraint within the listeners.

This year, keeping up with the theme from the previous year, we present to you SymbiTalks 9.0 - “This is My Story: Crafting Legacies”.

Mr. Emmanuel Gosula has 20 years of experience in HR, Talent Development and Management, L&D, and Talent Acquisition functions. He is currently heading the talent development function for EPAM Systems in the India & APAC region.

He has a proven track record of coaching and advising business leaders, managers, and employees across various locations and domains, and of implementing effective people interventions and HR programs. Mr. Gosula has also played a product manager role in building internal applications and tools, leveraging his HR and Systems MBA and certifications in AI to enhance HR analytics and generative AI capabilities. He is passionate about contributing to the HR community and the education sector and has been an ex-board member of the NHRDN Hyd Chapter, a Hysea HR forum member, an XLRI alumnus.

A passionate educator, Dr. Arman specializes in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. His dedication to training and mentoring young medical professionals has taken him to international platforms, including as a faculty speaker for the Emirates Society of Emergency Medicine in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Arman is renowned for his innovative work in reducing radiation exposure during the diagnosis of non-traumatic patients, prioritizing patient safety without compromising diagnostic accuracy. His efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic were instrumental, earning him the National Hero Award from the Human Rights Commission of India.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Arman has a strong commitment to social causes. During his MBBS days, he worked as a social activist under the banner of Being and Becoming, improving healthcare in slums and remote villages. Recently, he founded the VR School of Emergency Medicine to enhance training standards for healthcare professionals in India.

Major General Ajay Sharma, a 1987 batch officer, joined the Indian Army as a Technical Graduate and was commissioned into the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers. An alumnus of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, he has had an illustrious career spanning nearly 36 years, holding various prestigious command, staff, and instructional appointments across the nation. His exceptional academic credentials include multiple degrees in engineering and strategic studies, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning.

Major General Sharma has significantly contributed to national projects, including the development of the 'Tejas' combat aircraft and the AGNI - II missile. As Brigadier of Management Information Systems Organisation, he led the creation of an innovative in-house application for the Indian Army. Recently, he served as Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, overseeing the training of over 2000 officers and jawans in diverse technologies.

An avid cyclist, keen photographer, and voracious reader, Major General Sharma has authored five well-researched books on military matters and travelled extensively.

Captain Sujata Pandey Sharma, an Indian Army veteran, was part of the pioneering first batch of female officers in 1992. She made history as the first and only woman chosen from undivided Madhya Pradesh, commissioned into the Army Service Corps in 1993.

A top academic achiever, Captain Sujata holds multiple postgraduate degrees, including a Gold Medal in Microbiology with a specialization in Biotechnology. Her groundbreaking research earned her entry into the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. She also has an MBA in Human Resource and Personnel Management.

Post-retirement, Captain Sujata has excelled in various roles, from implementing the Edexcel UK program in India to leading operations at an experiential marketing company. She was instrumental in the 'Hydourite' cultural fest in Hyderabad and led educational initiatives as Chairperson of the Education Committee of South Western Command.

Captain Sujata's resilience extends beyond her professional life. She bravely battled cancer and emerged as a survivor. Today, she dedicates her time to mentoring others facing similar challenges, providing support and hope to those in need. Her personal story of strength and perseverance is truly inspiring.

An accomplished basketball player and national-level horse rider, Captain Sujata is also an avid reader and writer, having travelled to over 25 countries.

A distinguished professional in Physical Education and Sports with over a decade of experience, Dr. Amit Malik, has significantly contributed to Physical Literacy advocacy, education, training, and implementation across India. His collaborations span government departments, not-for-profits, corporate's, universities, and schools.

Dr. Amit holds a Doctoral Fellowship in Management from the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from NIT Kurukshetra. He has published case studies in the Harvard Business School Journal and articles in leading business newspapers and journals.

As the India Country Lead for the International Physical Literacy Association (IPLA), Dr. Amit Malik brings global best practices to India. He is also a member of the committee established by the Ministry of Sports in India to form the National Sports Education Board and has contributed to the Sports Policy for Andhra Pradesh.
