Event Name: Shakti Says 4.0

Objective:

This event aimed to understand how organizations integrate and manage the unique values, skills, and expectations of different generational groups to foster collaboration and drive success in a modern, multi-generational workforce.

Outcome:

The students gained valuable insights into the courage it takes to navigate complex situations within a multi-generational workforce. Through their participation in the activity conducted by Team Shakti, they also heightened their social awareness, recognizing the challenges and opportunities that arise from generational diversity.

Shakti - The Women Development and Social Responsibility Cell of SIBM-H conducted ‘Shakti Says 4.0’, the fourth edition of Shakti Says for the MBA students of Batch 2023-25 and for the students of BBA Batch of 2024-26 on 30th August 2024. The theme of this event was “Generational Fusion: Navigating the complexities of a diverse workforce”, which means focus on achieving a workspace where the different blend of ages can coexist and bring their experiences and fresh ideas to build a strong foundation for the future generations. The core philosophy of Symbiosis International (DU) is Vasudaiva Kutumbakam. In pursuance of this and as part of the university’s emphasis on inspiring future managers, speakers were brought from different fields who shared their experiences about their respective domains. This event encouraged students to adapt sustainable and eco-friendly behaviors among employees and reduce environmental impact.

The event started with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta, Deputy Director, SIBM Hyderabad; Dr. Ridhi Rani, Faculty-In-Charge of Shakti; Head and Deputy Head of Shakti, and our esteemed guest, Mr. Pranav Prakash, TEDx speaker and Google Sales Lead. After that Dr. Shyamsunder Chitta and Dr. Ridhi Rani addressed the audience by their welcome speech followed by the first activity by team Shakti called “Hush Rush: The Headphone Challenge” where 4 students were called on stage and they had to guess different words with headphones on their ears. After the activity, Mr. Pranav Prakash ' addressed the students wherein, he discussed the navigating complexities of a diverse workforce followed by a question-and-answer session with students.

After a short break another activity “Think it -Link it: Emoji Challenge” was performed where students joined different pictures to form a word related to the generational workforce. The head of Shakti gave a brief introduction to the students about the panel discussion on the topic to be discussed. After the introductions, the speakers which were Shivani Singh - Vice President - Marketing and Design at PruTech Manju Latha Kalanidhi - Journalist in words in WoW, Hyderabad, and the New Indian Express Kanneganti Ramesh Babu - Founder, Director at Center for Human Security Studies, Hyderabad Ruchir Bharati – Client Relationship Manager at Cognizant, later engaged in a panel discussion wherein they discussed on the topics of understanding the generational differences, fostering inclusive work environment and digital detox and well-being.

There was a one-on-one interaction between the panelists. They also interacted with the audience and answered their questions which indeed motivated and created a sense of positivity in the students. At the end of the event the deputy head gave the vote of thanks and the event concluded.
