Event Name: Vigilance Awareness Week, 2023

Objective: To promote and reinforce the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability and to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption and the need to combat it.

Outcome: The faculties, staff, and students of SIBM-H took a pledge and were allowed to showcase their awareness of their rights and knowledge about the law and orders through quizzes and skits

Report:

The Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad, celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 at SIBM, Hyderabad, from 30th October 2023-5th November 2023. This includes taking a pledge and doing activities to raise awareness about the topic, encourage integrity, and prevent corruption.

Firstly, the mail was sent to the faculty, staff, and students for taking the “Anti-Corruption Pledge” and taking certificates for the same to raise awareness and promote ethical standards.

Secondly, InkSleuths-The Literary Committee of SIBM Hyderabad organised a Central Vigilance Commission Quiz Competition at SIBM, Hyderabad on 3rd November, from 4:55 pm to 5:15 pm at Lecture Theatre of SIBM Hyderabad. The event was organised and moderated by InkSleuths – The Literary Committee.

 

The Quiz Competition consisted of pen-paper test where there were 20 questions and participants were given 15 minutes to solve the paper. The students were judged according to the correct number of answers marked. The participant with the highest score wins the competition.

All the participants and audience were indulged and enthusiastic throughout the activity. The event was concluded after receiving their responses sheet, and later by declaring the results through mail, where there were three winners and two runners-up.

Then Antardhwani, the Cultural Club of SIBM Hyderabad, organised a skit to spread awareness on the topic "No corruption, commit to the nation", as we are observing this week as "the vigilance awareness week." The students gathered in the computer lab at 7 p.m. to watch the skit prepared by Team Abhinay, the drama vertical of Antardhwani.

The performance highlighted the corruption in a passport office and aimed to make the

students aware of the prevalent issues. It encouraged students to take a stand against corruption, emphasizing collective responsibility in building a corruption-free society. The performance effectively combined entertainment with a meaningful message, sparking discussions and inspiring positive change.

Also, the Public Relations and Website Committee of SIBM Hyderabad posted some posts on SIBM Hyderabad social media platforms promoting awareness of “anti-corruption week”.
